About Us
New Hope Apostolic Church (formerly The Pentecostals of Louisiana) began in 1914 during a Pentecostal camp meeting held in Louisiana, Missouri, by Rev. C. Emrich of St. Louis. During that revival several people received the Holy Spirit, with the initial sign of speaking in tongues. A Pentecostal church was soon established in a Louisiana store building, and its first pastor was Rev. W. E. Kidson.

For more than a century, God has faithfully sustained our church. Through seasons of growth and change, our congregation has remained committed to proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ and serving Louisiana and the surrounding communities. While we cherish our rich Pentecostal heritage, our focus is always forward—reaching our community with hope, truth, and the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.

Today, New Hope Apostolic is a welcoming community where individuals and families can encounter God, grow in their faith, and build meaningful relationships. Our services are centered on heartfelt worship, prayer, and practical, Bible-based preaching.

Whether you are new to church, returning after time away, or looking for a place to grow in your walk with God, you will find a warm welcome at New Hope. We invite you to join us!

We are affiliated with the United Pentecostal Church International, which has over 6.2 million constituents and 45,000 churches in 203 nations worldwide.

What We Believe
The Bible is our authority for salvation and Christian living.
(See 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Corinthians 10:11.)

There is one God, who has revealed Himself as Father; through His Son, in redemption; and as the Holy Spirit, by emanation. Jesus Christ is God manifested in flesh. He is both God and man. (See Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9; 1 Timothy 3:16.)
Everyone has sinned and needs salvation. Salvation comes by grace through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. (See Romans 3:23-25; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9.)
The saving gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We obey the gospel (2 Thessalonians 1:8; 1 Peter 4:17) by repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial), and the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial sign of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance (resurrection). (See 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Acts 2:4, 37-39; Romans 6:3-4.)
As Christians, we are to love God and others. We should live a holy life inwardly and outwardly and worship God joyfully. The supernatural gifts of the Spirit, including healing, are for the church today. (See Mark 12:28-31; 2 Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 12:14; 1 Corinthians 12:8-10.)

Jesus Christ is coming again to catch away His church. In the end will be the final resurrection and the final judgment. The righteous will inherit eternal life, and the unrighteous eternal death.
(See 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11-15.)
